Freedom is Yours – Five Reasons to learn Stickability

Hi to you. Today I am going to write about stickability and how stickability relates to your success. so grab a coffee, sit back and I hope you enjoy this blog.

Time – another poor excuse

I have heard so many excuses from people and using time is probably the most used.

“I just haven’t got time” Hmm.

We all spend time watching TV, movies, surfing the net, playing games and a host of other time wasting things all of which are not really proactive towards your success.

A lot of people say ” I have to work” or “I have a family”  or “I have things to do around my home and yard”

All of these are valid reasons not to have stickability when it comes to doing something unfamiliar. This thing called fear tells us to make up reasons not to move forward.

Now I’m not saying you should not work, be with your family or do things you need to do.

What I am saying is, you may need to look at your thoughts when it comes to something new take notice of those feelings cos just maybe there is some sort of negative feeling attached to those thoughts.

Let’s say you are shown a business opportunity that will create a future where you no longer need your job. What an incredible feeling, not having someone else in control of your life or the money you earn.

It can also be scary especially if you have had a job (just over broke) from the time you graduated. Don’t let fear stop you.

Have a look at the opportunity that is presented to you, do your due diligence, then if it is good, go for it. You will most likely be so surprised at how your life changes.

Time freedom and money = Freedom is Yours, it is your choice.

If you truly want to do something new and different from the norm, then you need stickability and then a sense of freedom is yours.

Example: OK, Someone buys you a skydiving gift voucher which a wonderful gift and they hand it to you. Instantly you are one of 2 things.

Excited because it is something you always wanted to do and now is your chance, or you become instantly fearful at the thought of jumping from a plane.

For me, it is the 2nd one but I do know this. If I was given the opportunity handed to me, I would learn what I need to learn and make time to go do it. I would face my fears and through a skydiving instructor, I know I would gain the confidence I needed to go Jump!!

This goes for so many different things in our lives and you truly want to move forward living your best life you will find the time

Attitude – what’s yours like?

When it comes to change of any kind we all have different attitudes towards it.

Some like it, some people love it and some people don’t like it at all so if you want to something new with your life and you don’t like change chances are you may not do whatever it is.

In order to achieve the goals and dream you want, you are going to have to have a positive attitude, you have to be open to learning new things and as it is said:” Your attitude determines your altitude” and this is a fact.

Without a great attitude towards life and your future, you will find a reason not to go for your goals, too sabotage your progress when you start moving forward. You may even try to blame others because you stopped working on your new plan. You are in control of your life and the freedom is yours for the taking if you 100% want this and nothing or no-one will be able to stop you.

You will be like an Olympian striving for Gold.

Teachable – Are you willing to learn?

You have to be willing to learn when you decide to do something new, so are you teachable?

There are people who hate being taught and then there are those who love it. Be one of those people and you will have a great future. Learning is so important for you when you take on a new project, career move or start your own new business and there are mentors, people who know a lot of great things that will teach you on your way.

Remember this” The teacher will appear when the student is ready” Are you ready?

Focus – or moving along aimlessly

Usain Bolt, Michael Jordon, Elton John, Michael Phelps, Mark Todd, Adele, Lady Gaga, Pink, Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and 1000’s more famous people did one of the most important things.

Focus!!. They all focused on their goals, not on the hard stuff, the early days but on the GOAL and guess what, they focused 100% on this.

Through rough patches and there will be those, through rejections, through bad weather, you name it, if you truly want to reach your goal, you need to focus on the big picture, not on the negatives.

When I started singing, I was very young and all I did every waking moment was think about becoming a professional singer. Guess what. It worked and I loved my 25 years on the stage.

Focus on the picture of what it looks like – you are there. How do you feel? Who is with you. What are you doing? Are you rich, famous, truly happy?

Feel it and see where it takes you.

Goals – what are realistic goals?

Some people think goals are simple to have. I disagree a little with this.

Goals are the most important thing you can have when you have decided what it is you want, however, if you don’t do your Goals correctly all kinds of things can go wrong.

For example:

  • I’m going to start a business                WRONG
  • I’m going to buy a new car                     WRONG
  • I’m going to take a vacation                  WRONG

These are NOT goals, these are ideas

Goals look like this:

  • 1 month from (date) I’m going to own my own business doing (whatever this is, where it is)
  • 3 months from (date) I’m going to buy a  new (make, model, colour. price, year)
  • 6 months from (date) I’m going to book my vacation to (Place, for how long and with who? is it on a plane. bus, train?)
  • Be really specific. Details, please

Are you getting the importance of how you set Goals? If you set them the 2nd way you are 80% more likely to achieve them than with the 1st example.

And finally, you must have a plan set in place on how to achieve the goals A solid written step by step plan is one of the ways to success and freedom is yours. All you have to do is choose to DO whatever it is you want to do to create a better life for you.

How many hours you are prepared to put into achieving your results. Who, What, When, Why, How. these are your keywords when you make a plan.

Go for it and have fun

  1. Hi Vicki

I really enjoyed reading your post.

I completely agree with you, you will not get anywhere near success without setting goals, and, most importantly, sticking to them!

That really is the “secret sauce” of success!

Those people who just muddle along without any clear goals are going to be very unlikely to achieve them.

Your tips are invaluable, thank you so much for your very helpful post.

    Chrissie 🙂

    1. Hi Chrissie

Good to see you again and thanks for your input

Yes, plan your work and work your plan and stick to it- This is how success is created

All the best and hope to see you again real soon

  2. Life is much easier when you keep an open mind and stop being stubborn. A lot of people insist on being right and it always puts them in a place of misery.

Coachability and willingness to change go hand in hand. If you pack one of those, you are not going to see success in any endeavor.

  3. Thank you for this wonderful post. When i was reading this post i remembered for the first time when i finished my secondary school. My target was to look for a job which will make me rich.Oh my, that job was in my dream because i didn’t find it instead i found stress. After i decided to go to university so that i increase my knowledge with result to be rich too. But my i didn’t get what i wanted.

People can get what they want if they really know what they want. Freedom is the target.

  4. Hi Vicki. Stickability is a very good term It is very true that our attitude has a lot to do with how we see things in life and to be successful there is no room for a negative attitude. I also agree that goals are so important – they must be specific, measurable and attainable otherwise there is very little chance of achieving them. Thanks for a great reminder!
